Girls weekend – great way to finish the 2021 tournament

The final weekend of the 2021 Nationals is traditionally the girls weekend and what a weekend it turned out to be…. there was no rain!!! Who would have expected so much rain in August. We will be pleased to have the 2022 tournament back at the usual time of June.

The girls weekend had numerous highlights but one club in particular had a very special and successful time. HRH Haringey girls representing North London won three out of the six age groups on offer, a tremendous achievement.

Saturday saw Girls United from Peterborough take the GU12 title from finalists Chesterfield Women FC. Followed by Winstanley Warriors from Wigan winning the GU14 title from finalists Allexton & New Parks representing Leicester. HRH Haringey won the first of their three titles in the girls GU16 section, successfully defending their 2019 title, beating Bradford City Ladies in the final

Sunday started well for HRH Haringey taking the GU13 title from Doncaster Belles, closely followed by the Gu15 title with a win over 2019 champions Blackpool Girls FC. To round off the 2021 ACES Nationals tournament we saw Plymouth Aspire take the GU17 title from 2019 champions Derby County Girls.
