An interview with the winning managers

We saw some unbelievable talent at the weekend. We champion the managers behind these teams and had a word with the winning coaches.

First up, we’ve got Studley Juniors FC’s coaches, Robbie and Jamie who picked up the trophy representing the U15 boys’ category. They beat Sielby FC in a close penalty shootout, 6-5.

You guys are National Champions! How are you feeling?

Robbie: Amazing, absolutely amazing . We’re so proud of the boys. The season they’ve had is unbelievable.

Jami: It’s been brilliant. The teams that they’ve played today has been crazy We’ve played Newcastle, Basingstoke, the strongest teams around so for us to come here and win, it’s outstanding.

It got a bit intense during the penalty shootout, what was going through your mind?

Robbie: Penalties is a lottery but the boys held their nerve. We lost in the semi-finals last year on penalties, but we came back this year and finished it.

What’s next for Studley Juniors?

Robbie: Come back next year and retain the title!

Well done boys!

On Sunday, we had the manager’s from Mags Titans FC celebrating their U16’s ACES win.

Congratulations, your team are National Champions! How are you feeling?

Superb. It’s been a really great day. Every game we played, we got better and better. We’re slow starters but we came through in the end.

So this is your first ACES tournament, what did you make of the day?

Superb. It’s a shame we haven’t been here before!

What’s next for Mags Titans?

The European Cup!

Well done to both our winners this weekend and their managers. Fantastic.
